Asked before you start.
Q.01Do I need to know accounting?
No. Risiti shows money in, money out and what's left, in plain words. If you work with an accountant, download your sales and expenses as spreadsheets and send them over.
Q.02Does it work with M-Pesa?
Yes. Paste or forward an M-Pesa message: money you paid out becomes an expense with the amount, who was paid and the code, and money received on your till, Paybill or Pochi la Biashara becomes a sale with the customer's name, the time and the code. Till payments your staff post in WhatsApp become sales too.
Drop in a till, Paybill or personal M-Pesa statement (PDF, Excel or CSV) and every payment in becomes a sale, with withdrawals and charges left out. A payment is known by its code, so one already saved from its message is never counted twice. Every sale can be marked cash, M-Pesa, till, card, bank or credit.
Q.03Can I run more than one shop?
Yes, as many as you run. Each shop has its own products, selling points, receipts and numbers. Star the one that opens first and switch between them with one tap.
Q.04Where is my data kept?
On your own device, in your browser's storage. If you make a free account, also in your private Risiti account, so it is backed up and on every device where you sign in. When you scan something, it is sent to be read by AI and the result comes back; Risiti does not keep a copy.

Q.05Does it work offline?
Yes. Once installed, Risiti opens, shows your numbers and records sales and expenses without a connection. Reading photos and screenshots needs one.
Q.06What happens if I change phones?
Sign in to your Risiti account on the new phone and everything is there. Without an account, download a full backup from Settings on the old phone and restore it on the new one.
Q.07Can I track personal spending too?
Yes. Mark an expense as Personal and it stays out of your shop's numbers, while Risiti still shows where your own money went.
Q.08Can I use it outside Kenya?
Yes. Risiti works in any currency and has tax presets for 47 countries, from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Nigeria to the UK, the US and India. Every shop keeps its own currency and time zone.
